I see something that should be added to this process: replace the castle nut loosely on the axle threads to prevent the hub/drum from launching across the shop floor when the hub finally pops loose from the tapered axle.
Leave the castle nut 3 or 4 threads away from tight, that will keep things from flying but still allow enough movement for the puller to work.
